Millinery - Hats

It’s all about the hat! This two-weekend workshop offers instruction in the basics of creating a hat from scratch.

Students will learn how to pattern and build a soft hat of their choice/design.

This fast paced course guides participants through the process of analyzing their chosen design, patterning the component parts, making a paper mock up and then constructing a fabric hat.

Participants are asked to bring design ideas (magazine cut outs and/or design drawings), paper and fabric scissors, see-through ruler, measuring tape, masking tape, pencils, erasers and tracing wheels. “Bring your own straight/zig sewing machine option” is welcome.

Previous sewing experience is helpful but not necessary. Students have the option to choose their own fabric.
