Set Construction
(Course 1: Theatre Production Arts)
Students will learn a variety of techniques used in creating stage sets.
This course covers: interpreting set-design drawings, basic drafting, carpentry skills including measuring, cutting, fitting, fastening, sanding and rigging, use of woodworking machines and settings, and safe use of power tools.
Other construction techniques using a variety of materials are also taught.
This course will be divided based on students' level of experience -- beginners through advanced (please indicate your skill-level when you register).
*This program is Course 1 of the Theatre Production Arts six-week course, which is offered in collaboration with Alternative Theatre Works and will result in a public performance at Factory163.
