Adam Proulx
Adam Francis Proulx is a Canadian puppeteer and theatre creator. He explored puppetry while working at the Walt Disney World parks but truly began when he was cast in the first Canadian company of Avenue Q. Nearly a decade later, through his company,The Pucking Fuppet Co., Adam creates original theatre, builds custom puppets, and provides
education and puppetry direction. Adam’s award-winning solo show B AKER’S DOZEN: 12 Angry Puppets has played across North America and was taped for TV by Bell Media.
As a builder, Adam has created original puppets for clients ranging from NL Now (Rogers TV),
Because News (CBC), Kal Penn Approves this Message (Freeform), recording Artist Shirley
Gnome, Indirect Object Australia, Sudbury Theatre Centre, and many others.
As an educator, Adam has worked with organizations such as Neptune Theatre School
(Halifax), Original Kids (London), Memorial University of Newfoundland, Continuing Legal
Education BC, Resource Centre for the Arts (Newfoundland), Northern Arts Academy, the
Algoma District School Board’s High Skills Major Program, and others.
In 2019, Adam was Artist in Residence with The Puppetsmithery in Australia; and for three
seasons, he was the Assistant Artistic Director of the Victoria Playhouse Petrolia.
During the early days of the pandemic Adam produced a web series for families called Spencer Stays Inside. You can see some of Adam’s puppetry on Netflix’s Oh Yuck!
