Melanie Farrar

Melanie Farrar is a cutter in the wardrobe department at the Stratford Festival. She has been drafting theatrical patterns and building costumes for over 15 years. Melanie loves being a part of bringing a story to life on stage. Whether it’s a tailored frock coat or a leather jerkin, every detail plays a part in the story.

Melanie has also worked on productions elsewhere including The Lion King, Lord of the Rings, Mamma Mia, and Ice Age on Ice. In between theatre contracts she works freelance; building dance costumes for competitive dancers.

Melanie also creates one-of-a-kind eclectic pieces from leather bags to corsets, bringing theatre into everyday life. Melanie’s passion for creativity doesn’t stop there. She is currently working on writing and illustrating her first children’s book.
