Monica Viani


Monica has been a professional theatrical millinery artist since 1995. Since then, Monica has crafted countless hats and accessories for numerous large and small-scale theatrical productions, ballets, films, television programs, operas and fashion runways. Notable Canadian clients include the Stratford Festival, Shaw Festival, Mirvish Productions, National Ballet of Canada, Ballet Jorgen Canada and the Canadian Opera Company, among others. Her work has appeared in numerous Broadway and touring productions, on the big screen and on television (including Hulu productions upcoming A Handmaid's Tale). US clients include Radio City Music Hall, Kinky Boots the Musical, Aladdin on Broadway, Something Rotten, and Lion King the Musical  (NYC, US National Tour, Las Vegas, Sydney, Australia,  Mexico City and Shanghai, China productions). Teaching credits include Ryerson University's Fashion and Theatre Schools, as well as many others.

Monica Viani is the proud recipient of a Tyrone Guthrie Award (1998) and gratefully acknowledges The Stratford Festival as being an incredible and inspiring training ground during the first 5 years of this wonderful career. After spending more than a decade in Toronto, Monica now resides in Stratford, Ontario.
