Scenic Painting

Scenic Painting is also part of the five-week Theatre Arts Production Program.

JULY 31 - AUGUST 4, 2017

For beginners.

In this intensive one-week course, participants will learn techniques and methods used by generations of theatre scenic artists. They will learn the use and safe handling of materials and tools as well as colour theory, mixing, chemical compatibility, marbling, brick and concrete facades, wood graining, aging and breaking down.

JULY 10 - 14, 2017

For those who have already acquired basic scenic painting skills.

Participants will have the opportunity to translate designs from page to stage. This intensive one-week course is targeted to those already familiar with painting tools, materials and methods, who want to hone their skills and practice new scenic painting techniques. Participants will gain confidence with the skills and abilities expected in scene shops in both theatre and film.

The low student-to-teacher ratio in each course ensures instruction is geared to the participants' skill level and experience. Please indicate your related experience when you register.

The course fee covers the cost of your materials during the course.
