2017 REGISTRATION CLOSED
ARTIST INSTRUCTORS: ERIC BALL and MELANIE FARRAR
NOVEMBER 11, 12, 25 & 26, 2017
FOUR-DAY WORKSHOP OVER TWO WEEKENDS
Participants in this workshop will learn the basics of building foam armor, costume pieces and accessories for role-playing. Ideas will be transformed into 3D!
Techniques taught will include draping and drafting of simple patterns as well as building techniques including carving and finishing.
Participants will be asked to submit their ideas in the form of sketches or inspirational photos for review prior to the workshop. This will enable the instructors to develop a plan for the work that can be feasibly done over the two weekends of the workshop as well as ideas for "homework" outside the workshop if necessary.
The low student-to-teacher ratio in each course ensures instruction is geared to the participants' skill level and experience. Please indicate your related experience when you register.
The course fee covers the cost of basic materials required during the course. In this course, participants work on personal projects. Depending on the complexity of those projects, additional costs for materials may be incurred and are the responsibility of the student.
Day and time: Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Location: Factory163, 163 King Street, Stratford N5A 4S2
Target enrollment: 8 students
