Off the Wall Stratford Artists Alliance has been mentoring and inspiring the next generation of theatre production artists for 17 years.
Each season, our talented and dedicated backstage artists from such places as the Stratford Festival share their considerable skills and knowledge with students of all ages from across North America. Off the Wall provides a variety of learning opportunities -- from costume design, millinery and wig making, to theatrical carpentry, artistic welding and scenic painting – helping them experience the full artistic production process. Our instructors play an important part in equipping students for employment in small theatres, apprenticeships in larger theatres, or artistic specializations at the college/university level.
Student tuition goes a long way toward paying for our operations, covering 70% of costs. The rest is earned through fundraising. We are approaching family, friends and arts patrons to help us provide top-notch backstage training. We feel strongly that, with your assistance, we can continue to serve the theatre community at the highest level.
We’ve been fortunate to receive Ontario Arts Council support for the past 10; however, because of recent provincial arts funding cutbacks, Off the Wall is appealing to our community for assistance.
Please consider making a contribution to Off the Wall. You may wish to support our general programming or contribute to our youth scholarship fund. You will receive a tax receipt for the full amount of your donation. And, as a not-for-profit volunteer board, we will be forever grateful.
Thank you so much for your consideration.
