Scott Wishart brings more than four decades of professional photography experience to his role of workshop leader. Wishart, 62, studied at Loyalist College under the tutelage of the late Prof. John Peterson, the country’s preeminent photojournalism instructor and advocate.
With a focus on local news, feature and sports, Wishart’s work has garnered awards and recognition from such organizations as the Canadian Press, the National Press Photographers Association (U.S.) and the Eastern Canadian News Photographers Association. Scott’s early black-and-white newspaper work was the subject of a solo show at the Gallery Stratford in 1993.
Scott was named Visual Journalist of the Year by Canada’s largest newspaper chain in 2012. Wishart left the newspaper world in 2017 to form a small freelance business, with clients that included the Stratford Festival, Ontario Global 100 and Stratford Summer Music. He is now pursuing a range of personal photographic projects, many of which can be viewed at his website: wishartstudio.com
