Sean Mulcahy

Sean is a Toronto based Set and Costume Designer and Stylist whose work has been seen throughout Canada, the US and Central America. Select companies include: Theatre Aquarius, Starvox Ent., KOBA Entertainment, The Stratford Festival, The Obsidian Theatre Company, Rainbow Stage, Canadian Stage, Harold Green Jewish Theatre Co., and Neptune Theatre.  Print and media clients include some of North America’s leading brand and National PSA campaigns; CAMH, Home Depot, Canadian Tire, The Bombay Co., Hudson’s Bay, Indigo, etc. 

 

Awards: A Guthrie and The Tom Patterson Award (Stratford Festival); 8 Merritt Nominations, 3 Awarded (Theatre Nova Scotia); Best Group Costume Design (Pride Toronto); Pauline McGibbon Award, shortlist (2011); 2020 Laureate of the prestigious Virginia and Myrtle Copper Award in Costume Design, Ontario Arts Federation and OAC.

 

Sean is a graduate of York University’s Theatre Production and Design program (BFA Honours) and holds a Post Graduate Cert. in Arts Administration and Cultural Management from Humber College.  He is a member of the Associated Designers of Canada, IATSE 659, and a Design instructor at Ryerson University, Chang School for Continuing Education.  As a guest artist lecturer and mentor, Sean has worked across the country training and motivating aspiring Designers of all age groups.
