Course Closed - please look to the fall courses for SFX Makeup on a budget
AUGUST 18 - 19, 2018
In this two-day introductory course to theatrical makeup, participants will be guided through various techniques and tricks on enhancing their on stage characters. This course is a must have for actors requiring the skills to apply their own makeup for shows, for community theatre participants looking to up their game and for those who just want to expand their makeup skills.
In this course, participants will learn and expand the following skills:
Explore why theatrical makeup is important in bringing on stage characters to life.
Discuss techniques to work with different lighting, audience distance and troubleshooting when minimal makeup is on hand.
Learn fundamental approaches to appropriate skin care techniques, choosing the correct products and enhancing natural facial features.
Practice and explore the various looks and techniques demonstrated using the makeup kit provided.
Dive deeper into specialized character makeup looks and choosing the appropriate features in order to bring your characters to life.
Participants will receive a $200 makeup kit included in the course fee. Due to the variety of skin tones and sensitivities, students are asked to bring their own foundation, concealer and natural lip colour.
The low student-to-teacher ratio in each course ensures instruction is geared to the participant's skill level and experience. Please indicate your related experience when you register.
