Create a one-of-a-kind tiara that will sparkle, shine and bring out your inner royalty with this fun,one-day class. With the guidance of one of the Stratford Festival’s experts on bijoux and jewellery, Tami MacDonald, explore the world of creating a fantastical theatrical tiara.
In this course students will learn and expand on the following skills:
Implement a tiara design from idea to creation
Learn to draft a paper pattern in order to navigate wires for structure, angles and design
Using wire to create your shapes, learn how to create strong and effective joints
Discover proper ways to set jewels and rhinestones
Explore creative ways to use previously enjoyed jewellery to add character to your tiaras
The low student-to-teacher ratio in each course ensures instruction is geared to a participant’s skill level and experience. Please indicate your related experience when you register.
The course fee covers the cost of basic materials; however, participants have the opportunity to work on personal projects. Depending on the complexity of those projects, additional costs for materials may be incurred and are the responsibility of the student.
